UW-Green Bay Gets Verbals From South Metro Storm’s Sadergaski And Rose

The Wisconsin-Green Bay men and women have each picked up a new verbal commitment, as Jaelin Rose has announced her intention to join the women and Paul Sadergaski has given his verbal to the men.

Rose will head to Green Bay after graduating from Lakeville North High School. Sadergaski, on the other hand, will be graduating from Faribault High School. The two swimmers are currently club teammates for the South Metro Storm in Minnesota.

Paul Sadergaski:

Sadergaski will contribute to the Green Bay men’s lineup in the butterfly and sprint freestyle events. In his junior high school season, Sadergaski became the Minnesota Boys Class A State Champion in the 100 fly, lowering his best time to a 50.04. He also placed 5th in the 50 free at that meet in a personal best 21.41.

Sadergaski’s Top Times:

Event Best Time
100 fly 50.04
200 fly 1:55.19
50 free 21.41
100 free 48.27
200 free 1:45.52

Sadergaski should have an immediate scoring impact for Green Bay at the Horizon League Championships. His personal best in the 100 fly is already fast enough to have placed in the B-final at last season’s Horizon League meet, and is only 2 tenths shy of championship final range. He’s also narrowly shy of what it took to score in the 50 free and 200 fly at that meet.

Jaelin Rose:

Rose is primarily a breaststroker, but she’ll also add depth to the Green Bay women’s lineup in the sprint free and IM races. At last season’s Minnesota Class AA State Championships, Rose finished in the top 10 of the 100 breast with a personal best 1:06.07. She then went on to compete in the Minnesota Senior State Championships during the long course season. There, she finished 4th in the 100 breast and 11th in the 200 breast.

Rose’s Top Times:

Event Best time
100 breast 1:06.07
200 breast 2:34.57
50 free 26.37
200 IM 2:14.44

Rose is already fast enough to pick up conference points for Green Bay at the Horizon League Championships. Her best  time in the 100 breast is already fast enough to have landed her in the B-final last season. She’ll also be in contention for a medley relay spot, as the team just graduated Marlee Kiander and Racheal Weiland, their top breaststrokers at conference last season.
