5x NY High School Champ Alex Park Verbally Commits to Brown University

Alex Park of Dix Hills, New York has verbally committed to the application process at Brown University.*

Park is a five-time New York high school state champion from Half Hollow Hills High School. He swims year-round for Team Suffolk in Long Island, and is the captain of both of the high school varsity team and the club team.

At the 2016 NYSPHSAA Federation Championships, Park finished first in the 200 IM by 1/100, winning in 1:51.21. He was sixth in the 100 free (46.59) and was a member of the Half Hollow Hills 200 free relay, which was both State and Federation champion, and the 200 medley relay, which won the State but finished second in the Federation results. Park also won the 200 IM in 2015.

A two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All American and NISCA All-American, Park’s best SCY times are:

  • 400 IM – 3:56.74
  • 200 IM – 1:51.21
  • 200 back – 1:51.10
  • 100 back – 51.51
  • 200 free – 1:44.44
  • 100 free – 46.49
  • 200 breast – 2:08.18
  • 100 breast – 58.71
