The Associated Press is reporting that the University of Utah has completed its investigation into allegations against terminated head swim coach Greg Winslow and will release their findings in a press conference today.
Both the President of the University David Pershing and the Athletic Director Chris Hill are set to be present.
The university’s investigation was not focused on allegations of sexual abuse, that Maricopa County in Arizona declined to press charges on, rather it is focused specifically on accusations at the University of Utah.
There is a separate ongoing investigation by two outside investigators hired by the Pac 12 Conference.
That includes those made by swimmer Austin Fiascone that included physically and verbally assaulting swimmers and other coaches and using racial slurs. An African-American member of the team who was subject to those slurs and then removed from the team has had his scholarship reinstated and been allowed back to the program.
Winslow was suspended by the university when these allegations became public, and eventually they didn’t renew his contract that expired last month.
The school has come under criticism after it was revealed that they were aware of many of the allegations against Winslow but failed to remove him from his position until they were picked up upon by the media. The University claimed to have found no wrongdoing upon their initial investigation, according to the AP.
