AMHERST, Mass – The Massachusetts swim & dive program celebrated its 13 seniors with a pair of victories today in their final home meet of the season against the Bryant University Bulldogs. The women took a 203.5-96.5 victory while the men went home with a 173-126 win.
The women took their 203.5-96.5 win in dominant fashion starting with a first place finish in the 200 medley relay. Massachusetts placed first, second, and third in three events beginning with the 100 breast stroke, led by Mia Flagiello in first at 1:05.66, followed by teammates Olivia Mozoki, and Tenzin Nordon.
Kelsey Cordery led the charge with two first place finises in the 50 free, and the 100 free, and a first place finish in the 200 free relay. Flagiello also took first in the 200 breast followed again by teammate Mozoki.
Emily Petrovich had a first-place day in the pool taking first in the 1-meter dive with 268.05 points and in the 3-meter with 250. 80 to lead the UMass.
Jamie Macdonald took first place finishes in the 200 and 100 butterfly. The Minutemen dominated the 200 Free taking first-third place with Dias Konysbayev taking first, followed by Eric Eatham, and senior Jacques Boffa in third.
Emerson Kiefer notched a victory in the 500 free with a time of 4L42.76, and with a time of 47.89 Heath Brames took first in the 100 free.
Tommy Cotner took first in both diving events, tallying a 237.9 in the men’s 1-meter and 257.85 in the 3-meter.
Massachusetts will head to Dartmouth on Friday, January 21 for the Tate Ramsden Invitational.

Women’s Recap
AMHERST, MA- The Bryant women’s swimming and diving team captured four event victories during their dual meet with Massachusetts on Saturday. Natalia Kuipers, Erin Doruska, Reagan Lord, and Julia Stenhard all won for the Bulldogs.

Reagan Lord swam to victory in the 100 back with a time of 57.61. She has dominated the event this year, holding the top time in the conference by over two seconds.

Natalia Kuipers swam to victory in the 1000 free with a time of 10:42.50. She finished two seconds ahead of the next competitor.

Erin Doruska won the 200 free, hitting the wall at 1:56.29. She also swam well in the relays, as her teams finished second in both the 200 medley and 200 free relay events.

Julia Stenhard won the 100 fly with a time of 58.16. She holds the NEC’s second best time in the event this season, a 56.18 at WPI.

Kyri Chambo and Sydney Barnett led the way for the divers. Chambo was Bryant’s high scorer in the three meter (183.45), while Barnett led the Bulldogs in the one meter (202.95).
Bryant will return to action this Saturday for Senior Day. They will host Marist in the Chace Center pool at noon.
Men’s Recap
AMHERST, MA- The Bryant men’s swimming and diving team took home seven event wins during their penultimate dual meet of the season on Saturday at Massachusetts. FuKang Wong led the way with three individual wins and a relay victory, while Matthew Mays and Griffin Lajoie had a pair of 1-2 finishes.

FuKang Wong swept both breaststroke events, hitting the wall at 56.51 in the 100 and 2:09.90 in the 200. He also won the 200 IM (1:56.99) and was part of the winning 200 medley relay team.

Matthew Mays won both the 100 and 200 backstroke, with times of 51.12 and 1:52.35 respectively. Griffin Lajoie came second in both backstroke events, giving the Bulldogs a clean sweep of the top two places.

Mays was also a part of the 200 medley relay team with Wong, Eric Bebel, and Reese Stevenson. They took the win with a time of 1:34.44.

Conner Lofstrom also picked up an individual win, hitting the wall first in the 50 free. He did so with a time of 21.46.

Drew Arnold was Bryant’s top diver on the men’s side in both one meter and three meter dives. His 233.35 score in the one meter and 190.13 in the three meter were both good for second place overall.
The Bulldogs will return to action this Saturday for Senior Day. They will host Marist in the Chace Center pool at noon.
