CHICAGO (Jan. 18, 2025) – The UIC swimming and diving program celebrated its 12 seniors before sweeping Chicago (209-63) (180-102) in its last home meet this season, concluding the home campaign without a loss.

DIVING
- Two divers made NCAA zone cuts, with Morrison qualifying in both diving events (272.48) (303.30) and Bruno Carrillo (Oak Forest, Ill./Oak Forest) making the cut on the one-meter (307.13).
- The Flames had six divers achieve lifetime best performances with Nolan, Cole Tremewan (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) and Kathryn Kleczka (Franklin, Wis./Divine Savior Holy Angels) on the one-meter. Gabriella Richards (Saline, Mich./Saline) on the three-meter and Sami Kassir (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) and Morrison had career bests on both the one-meter and three-meter.
UP NEXT
The Flames will be back in the pool next Friday and Saturday Jan. 24-25, when they travel to Missouri State.

CHICAGO, IL & GRAND RAPIDS, MI-UChicago Swim & Dive sent splits squads on the road to take on Division 1 cross-town rival UIC and #15 (W)/#9 (M) Calvin in Grand Rapids, MI. With several athletes unavailable due to illness and injury, the Maroons were stretched thin at both meets, but found a way to beat Calvin, one of the top D3 men’s teams, and stay competitive with their women’s team while also staying competitive against a D1 team UIC on the women’s side.
On the boards, Sumi Allen, Dani Killeen, Lilia Atanda & Veronica Fong all achieved NCAA Provisional Scores on 1M Diving, with Fong also achieving the score on 3M.
In the pool, Cooper Costello continued his impressive in-season swimming, surpassing the NCAA B Cut standards in both the 100 and 200 fly to takes dominate wins in both events. Christopher Xia’s win in the 100 breast also earned a NCAA B-Cut. Sebi Vernhes earned B Cuts with wins in the 100 free and teaming up with Jonathan Tang, John Butler, Ben Catton for a decisive victory in the 200 Free Relay.
