Wyatt Amdor, who swims for Upper Dublin Aquatic Club and Upper Dublin High School, has given his verbal commitment to join the University of Kentucky class of 2020.
“I chose the University of Kentucky because it was the best fit for me academically, socially, and swimming wise. Excited to be a Wildcat!”
Amdor was runner-up in the 100 breast (55.26) at the 2015 PIAA Boys AAA Swimming & Diving Championships; he also placed 17th in the 100 fly and swam on Upper Dublin’s 200 medley and 400 free relays. At Summer Juniors in San Antonio, he notched a best time in the 100 breast and was a member of Upper Dublin’s national champion 4×100 free and 4×100 medley relays. His best times are:
SCY | LCM | |
100 breast | 55.26 | 1:05.56 |
200 breast | 2:04.40 | 2:28.88 |
50 free | 21.64 | 24.62 |
100 free | 47.00 | 54.56 |
200 IM | 1:57.28 | 2:17.51 |
While a couple seconds off in his 200 breast, Amdor is already fast enough in the 100 to score at SECs. Moreover, he would have been the Wildcats’ second-fastest 100 breaststroker and third-fastest 200 breaststroker during the 2014-15 season.
