PENSACOLA, FL – Tulane’s Swimming and Diving team hit the road for Pensacola Friday evening and left the UWF Aquatic Center with a 166-133 victory.
The Green Wave achieved 10 victories in the process.
Senior Katie Lipsey won both the 3-meter (282.45) and 1-meter (267.23) competitions with scores that would have qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships in a Division I competition. The 3-meter score was sixth on the Green Wave’s all-time top 10 list, while the 1-meter number was fourth.
Ece Tanriverdi was victorious twice as well, first in the 1000 Freestyle (10:36.07) and again with a time of 5:08.40 in the 500 Free. Coming in second in the 500 was Sydney Mullin, who recorded a season-best time of 5:09.07.
Reigning American Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week Victoria Raymond took first in the 200 Butterfly with a time of 1:58.70 and in the 200 Backstroke in 2:01.46.
Gwen Shahboz bested the field in the 200 Breaststroke (2:21.99).
Andrea Zeebe, Shahboz, Raymond and Riley Hendrix won the 400 Medley Relay with a time of 3:52.37.
With her first win of the season, Quinlan Hinerfeld achieved a time of 57.43 in the 100 Backstroke, four hundredths of a second ahead of Hendrix, who set a season-best with that mark.
Paula Gaya Bisquerra took the top spot in the 100 Breaststroke with a season-best time of 1:06.81.
Zeebe (third place) went 24.66 in the 50 Free in another season-best effort, as did Natalia Strongyli (53.65) in the 100 Free with a second-place finish.
The Green Wave will be back in action Saturday when it hosts the Houston Cougars in the brand new Reily Student Center facility at 11 a.m. This program will highlight seniors Jennifer Gougelmann, Riley Hendrix, Katie Lipsey and Paige McKenzie, along with graduate student Summer Miln in a brief ceremony preceding the meet.

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The eighth-ranked UWF women’s swimming and diving team won six events and gave Tulane all it could handle before falling, 166-133, in a dual meet at the UWF Aquatics Center on Friday night.
Sydney Lewis won two individual events, out-touching the field in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly before giving UWF the edge in the leadoff leg of the winning 200 free relay.
Riley MacVane won the 200 freestyle and was part of the 200 free relay as she and Lewis were joined by Brooke Dorr and Aimee Patterson.
Dorr had a strong meet, finishing in the top two in all four events, winning gold in the 100 free and 200 free relay, with runner-up performances in the 100 fly and 400 medley relay.
Shannah Dillman had three top five swims for the Argonauts, touching first in the 400 individual medley, third in the 1000 freestyle and fifth in the 200 breaststroke.
On the diving boards, Jade Fontenelle continued her nationals-level diving to start the season, scoring a 267.75 for second place on the 3-meter and 242.78 on the high board. Olivia Nelson was third on the 3-meter and Adriana Mieses Sanchez was second on the 1-meter.
UWF will return to action Wednesday, Nov. 8 at Montevallo.
