The Tiffin Dragons in Tiffin, Ohio will become the 10th member of the  Division II’s Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (GLIAC) beginning in the 2013-2014 season. While the ball on this decision didn’t get rolling in time to field a team this year, they are actively seeking out a head coach for next fall.

Tiffin University, located in the middle of the college powerhouse triad of Toledo, Columbus, and Cleveland/Akron, is the newest member of the powerhouse athletics conference, having joined in 2008. With a big swimming membership, adding a program is a good fit for the school. Wayne State are the defending Champions in both men’s and women’s swimming, followed by Grand Valley State and University of Indianapolis.

Tiffin will train and compete at the Tiffin Community YMCA, a 25-yard, 6-lane pool that has its own community team as well. It is 13 feet deep on one end to accomodate the diving program. The Dragons are now up to 23 varsity sports (22 NCAA plus equestrian).
