KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Coming off the first season in Tennessee swimming & diving history that saw both the men’s and women’s teams tally top-ten NCAA finishes, Tennessee director of swimming & diving Matt Kredich announced the team’s schedule on Wednesday.

The 2023-24 slate features three home dual meets, which feature a non-conference matchup against Louisville, as well as SEC opponents Florida, Kentucky and LSU. UT will also host the Tennessee Invitational on November 15-17, along with the Tennessee Diving Invitational, which will take place on January 3-5.

Tennessee begins the season with an annual dual meet on the road against UNC Wilmington. The Vols and Lady Vols will compete in Wilmington on October 6, and they will also face off against the Seahawks on October 7 in an open water competition.

On October 12, UT will host Louisville at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center. This will be the third consecutive season that Tennessee will compete against the Cardinals. In 2021, both the Vols and Lady Vols defeated the Cardinals, while in 2022 the men’s and women’s teams split the dual meet.

Tennessee will face their first SEC foe on October 27, when they head to College Station, Texas, to face Texas A&M. The next weekend, UT will host both Florida and Kentucky in Knoxville on November 3.

To wrap up the fall campaign, the Big Orange will host the Tennessee Invitational in the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center on November 15-17. The three-day event will feature prelims during the morning, followed by finals in the evening sessions. 2023 will be the third straight season where the UT will host this meet, with the Vols and Lady Vols sweeping the last two years.

Knoxville will host the US Diving Winter National Championships to close out the 2023 calendar year. Qualifiers will be November 28 through 30, and the championships will begin on November 29 and go until December 6.

Tennessee will host the Tennessee Diving Invitational on Rocky Top from January 3rd until 5th. UT will later compete in the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships, which will be held in Athens, Georgia, after being held in Knoxville last season.

To begin the spring season, Tennessee will head to Georgia on January 20 to face the Bulldogs. UT will then return home the following weekend to face LSU on January 27. The dual meet against LSU will also serve as Senior Day in Knoxville.

The postseason will begin on February 20-24, when the Vols and Lady Vols will head to the Plains for the SEC Swimming and Diving Championships in Auburn, Alabama. Last season, both teams tallied top-three finishes and 26 UT athletes medaled, with 15 of these athletes returning.

Tennessee will host the Last Chance Meet and travel to the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships leading up to the CSCAA National Invitational Championships in Ocala, Florida, on March 14-16. The women are currently the defending champions, while the men tallied a second-place finish last season.

The Big Orange will round out their campaign with the NCAA Championships; the women’s meet will take place in Athens, Georgia, on March 20-23, and the men’s will be held in Indianapolis, Indiana, on March 27-30.

In addition to the team schedule, select UT student-athletes will swim in several open water competitions, including the U.S. Open Swimming Championships (November 29-December 2) and the Open Water National Championships (April 21-23).

Following the 2023-24 campaign, select Tennessee student-athletes will venture to Paris, France, and compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Two UT student-athletes have already qualified for the event, Jordan Crooks and Mona McSharry.
