Robbie Renwick Robbie Renwick is a British swimmer, born July 21, 1988 in Abu Dhabi. Renwick is a freestyle specialist, and his favorite event is the 200m freestyle. Renwick claims that his key to success is preparation and music, and he owns an Irish Setter, which he takes on walks when he's not training. Renwick studied at the University of Stirling, where he also trains with Coach Ben Higson. Early career Renwick has been on the swimming scene since 2005, when he was a junior competing at the Junior European Championships. In 2006, at his first senior level meet, he won a silver medal swimming on the 800m freestyle relay at the Commonwealth Games. Later that year he competed at his first senior European Championships, which was held in Budapest. World Championships In 2007 Renwick competed at his first World Championships, where were held in Melbourne. Although he didn't pick up a medal, he then followed up his debut by winning bronze in the 400m freestyle at the Short Course World Championships in Manchester. Beijing Olympics Renwick is a two-time Olympian - he made his Olympic debut for Great Britain at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He qualified in the 20om freestyle, and snuck in to the top eight final.
