JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Head Age Group Swim Coach
Reports to: Head Swim Coach & Director of Aquatics
Exempt/non-exempt: Exempt
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directly coaching the Age Group 2, Junior, and High School groups as well as coaching the Masters group on Monday & Wednesday mornings
- Complete meet entries for Age Group2, Junior, and High School groups
- Work with Head Coach to determine meet schedule for both competitive seasons
- Lead Masters Coach available for competitions if needed and warranted
- Staffing and structure of the Ripples (feeder) Program
- Writing and ensure the proper execution of each workout
- Marketing and growth of the program as a strong feeder into the Waves
- Produce and distribute fliers, registration, and schedule information at least 4 weeks prior to the start of each session
- Team Unify Meet Entry Admin
- Coordination of athlete entries for all team meets for the Waves
- Review with Waves Head Coach for Waves entry fee payments
- Send off team entries and payments to secure our spot in all meets in a timely manner
- Athlete Group Advancements
- Based on recommendations of coaches/instructors contact families and advise on the Waves group progressions from lessons to ripples to the Waves team throughout the year
- Ensure the emailing of group placements for each fall season by second Friday in June each year
- Conduct Team Tryouts and Evaluations of new prospective members resulting in proper group placement in the program
- Specialty Competitive Swim Clinic
- Market and organize a two week specialty competitive swim camp designed to generate interest in full year round competitive swimming on the Waves team
- Incentive based camp for coach compensation
- Work on Development of Summer Seasonal Team
- Creation to spark more interest in club by offering a seasonal 2 month team open to everyone
- Help ensure that meets held at Weymouth Club minimize the impact on club members
- Establish lobby displays, community outreach, and PR to maximize swim team enrollments
- In conjunction with Head Coach, determine team award winners, purchase and present awards. Determine and present end-of-season gifts for swimmers, seniors and others
- Assist with all team activities, banquets, and/or fundraisers in conjunction with Parent Committee
- Create, organize, register and run any clinics, private lessons, or camps for additional revenue
- Understand and promote other Aquatic Department programs
- Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by Owners, Executive Director or Assistant Director
Requirements
- Supervises Ripples (Pre Team Program) staff of 2 to 3 Assistant Coaches
- Responsible to help with pool maintenance issues while Aquatic Director and/or Asst Aquatic Director are not around
- This position requires a combination of early morning practices, evening practices, weekend practices, weekend swim meets, and any hours assigned by management
Salary
30k-37k Dependent on and expertize and experience.
