JOB DESCRIPTION
Team Charlotte Swimming (“TEAM”), Charlotte, N.C., with over 35 years of excellence in year-round competitive swimming is seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate for the strategic position of Associate Head Coach and/or Head Age Group Coach (this person will be the #2 coach on the team).
TEAM is a USA Swimming club that utilizes high quality lane space at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center (“MCAC”) in uptown Charlotte, the primary aquatic center within the area, along with a 50 meter facility for the long course season. Beginning in 2016 TEAM will operate out of a newly renovated MCAC along with one additional site in Mecklenburg County, including a 50 meter facility.
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, passion for teaching and the sport of swimming, and a demonstrated ability to motivate athletes in and outside of the pool.
REPORTING DIRECTLY TO THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND HEAD COACH, RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
1. Help develop, implement and oversee a seasonal training plan for age group swimmers.
2. Effectively and timely communicate with parents, athletes, coaching staff.
3. Assist as requested with administrative tasks.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 1-5 yrs. coaching experience as a USA Swimming certified coach.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- All required certifications, CPR/First Aid/Water Safety/Level 2 Background Check/Athlete Protection
- Training must be up to date.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to think strategically and willingness to actively contribute to developing, along with the Executive Director, a new vision for our club while effectively interacting with the Executive Director and Board members.
- Working knowledge of the Team Unify and Hy-Tek systems.
- Demonstrated passion for learning, continuing education and improving as a coach who’s active in the community.
