Swim Job: Illinois State University seeks full-time Assistant Women’s Swim Coach

JOB DESCRIPTION

Illinois State University, a member of the Missouri Valley and Missouri Valley Football Conference, is seeking a qualified candidate for a 12 month, full-time Assistant Women’s Swim Coach.

DUTIES

Illinois State University logoThe Assistant Women’s Swim Coach will assist the head coach in all phases of the Women’s Swimming and Diving program including but not limited to recruiting qualified student-athletes, organization and design of practice and competition, on-deck coaching, pool scheduling, team management, travel arrangements, budget management, coordination of academic and compliance staff, alumni development, fundraising and other duties as assigned. The assistant coach is responsible for conducting any duties or activities with integrity and within the rules of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA), the Missouri Valley Conference and/or Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVC or MVFC), the State of Illinois, Illinois State University, and the Athletics Department.

QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred. One to two years of collegiate and/or club coaching experience (GA experience accepted) is preferred. The assistant coach must pass the NCAA Division I recruiting exam annually. The assistant must also have certification in CPR/AED and First Aid or become certified upon employment. Required skills include: a proven ability to teach and coach fundamentals and advanced skills; advanced knowledge of swimming techniques and strategies; proven organizational and leadership ability; proficient computer skills, and thorough knowledge of NCAA Recruiting Rules.

SALARY
