Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Kayman Neal, a speedo juniors finalist, has announced her commitment to the University of Arizona. Neal is from Charlotte, North Carolina, and is expected to join the Wildcats ahead of the 2024-2025 season.

I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic careers at the University of Arizona! I would like to thank my family and friends for their support throughout this journey! I would also like to thank my coaches for all they have done to help me get to this point💙❤️

Neal is currently a junior at Myers Park High School. She trains and competes with SwimMAC Carolina at the club level. In addition to being both a summer and winter speedo juniors finalist, Neal is a North Carolina HS State finalist, and has competed at other prestigious events such as the Toyota US Open and the TYR Pro Swim Series.

Best Times (SCY):

  • 50 free- 23.35
  • 100 free- 51.20
  • 200 free- 1:51.16
  • 100 back- 54.24
  • 200 back- 1:56.04
  • 100 fly- 54.75

In December, Neal competed at the Speedo Winter Junior Championships East, where she set several personal bests. Individually, she competed in the 50 free, 100 back, 200 back, 100 fly, and 200 IM. She was also a member of several relays.

Neal’s highest finish of the meet came in the 200 back, where she finished in 10th with a new personal best of 1:56.04. Her prelims time of 1:56.64 had also been a personal best, and she dropped over 2.5 seconds over the course of the weekend.

Leading off the 400 Medley Relay, Neal swam to a split of 54.24, dropping nearly a second off her previous 100 back time.

More recently, she competed at the 2023 North Carolina HS 4A State Championships, earning two individual 4th place finishes, and two relay wins. In the 100 back, she swam a 54.88, just .64 off her best. She set a new personal best in the 100 fly, dropping .25 seconds to touch at 54.75.

At the 2023 Pac-12 Championships, the Wildcat Women finished in 6th out of 8 teams.

Neal will bring some much needed backstroke prowess to Arizona. With another year of high school left, her best times already place her comfortably in the B or C Finals at Pac-12s. In the 100 back, she would have been 17th overall, and the first finisher for Arizona. In the 200 back she also would have been Arizona’s top performer, finishing 14th overall.

Joining Neal in the recruiting class of 2024 is fellow sprint free/back/fly specialist Lila Lillie of Georgia. Her best times are just shy of Neal’s,  including 24.21 in the 50 free, 55.12 in the 100 back, 2:01.03 in the 200 back, and 56.02 in the 100 fly.
