SDSU’s Rumrill, DU’s Roas Take Home Swimmer of the Week Awards

ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota State’s Wyatt Rumrill was named Summit League Men’s Swimmer of the Week while Denver’s Johanna Roas earned Women’s Swimmer of the Week award for their performances during the week of Oct. 12-18.

  • Collects his first career Summit League Swimmer of the Week award
  • Freshman swept breaststroke events in his first collegiate meet
  • His time in the 100 Breast (59.10) is tops in the league this season
  • 200 Breast time of 2:11.65 currently ranks second in The Summit League
  • Swam leg of season’s second-fastest 200 Medley relay (1:35.96)

Also nominated: Kyle Robrock, Denver; Benjamin Levart, IUPUI.

Previous honorees: Oct. 13 – Hunter Padgett, South Dakota.

JOHANNA ROAS, DENVER
Jr. // Munich, Germany

  • Earns her third career Summit League Swimmer of the Week award and first this season
  • Claimed three first-place finishes (200 Free, 50 Fly, 200 IM) and one second-place finish (100 Back) in four individual events
  • Was a part of three first-place relay teams (200 Medley, 400 Medley, 200 Free) in two dual meet victories over the weekend
  • Owns the league’s tops times in the 200 IM and 200 Free and has the second-best time in the 100 Back this season

Also nominated: Julia Bodnaruk, South Dakota State; Maranda Buha, IUPUI.
