Savanna Faulconer Only Circle-Seeded Scratch On Day 2 Of US Open

2017 U.S. OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS

22nd-seeded Savanna Faulconer scratched out of the women’s 200 breast, the only swimmer within the circle-seeded range to scratch a prelims event for Thursday of the U.S. Open.

Faulconer was entered in both the 400 free and 200 breaststroke back-to-back, but opted out of the second race for the morning session. She’ll still swim the 400 free, where she’s the 31st seed.

There wasn’t much scratch activity this early in the meet. Three events had no scratches from the most recent psych sheet. The women’s 200 breast had a handful, with a few in the men’s 400 free and men’s 200 breast as well.
