Las Vegas’ Bryce Rounds, who was a finalist in the 1650 free at the Nevada High School State meet in November, has committed to continue his swimming career on the Division I collegiate stage at Mount St. Mary’s beginning in the fall of 2019.
“I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Mount St. Mary’s University,” Rounds said. “I would like to thank my family, coaches, and friends for their constant support and encouragement. I am looking forward to being part of such an amazing program and team. GO MOUNT!”
Rounds finished fifth in the 1650 free at the Nevada High School State Championships in November, while also placing 27th in the 200 free (1:55.32) and 100 breast (1:08.10) and 35th in the 100 fly (1:00.63) for Bishop Gorman High School.
In 2017, Rounds was seventh at the Nevada High School state meet in the 1650 free and 14th in the 500 free. He also placed 14th in the 200 breast (2:27.39), 16th in the 200 IM (2:09.68), 22nd in the 100 breast (1:09.04), 30th in the 200 free (1:56.36) and 36th in the 100 free (55.02).

Rounds’ top 500 free time would have ranked first on the 2018-19 Mount St. Mary’s roster, ahead of sophomore Nicholas Starvaggi (4:50.82). His top 1000 and 1650 free times also would have led the Mount.
