The 2019 European Short Course Championships are slated for December 4th-8th in Glasgow, Scotland, with nations’ roster announcements now trickling in with the elite event just over 2 months away.
Great Britain revealed its 16-strong lineup last week, and now we know the 6 swimmers who will be representing Lithuania. Led by 24-year-old Danas Rapšys, the squad also consists of breaststroking ace Andrius Šidlauskas, sprint maestro Simonas Bilis, as well as 24-year-old butterfly veteran Deividas Margevičius.
New blood is infused onto the small but mighty roster in the form of Kotryna Tetervkova and Arijus Pavlidi, both of whom are making their European Short Course Championships debuts.
They each made finals at this year’s World Junior Championships, with Tetervkova placing 5th in the 100m breast and 6th in the 50m breast, while Pavlidi wound up 6th in the men’s 200m backstroke event in Budapest.
Both Tetervkova and Pavlidi competed at the European Junior Championships this year as well, with the former taking silver in the 50m breast and 4th place in the 100m breast and the latter placing 4th in the men’s 200m backstroke.
At the 2017 edition of the European Short Course Championships, Rapšys reaped gold in the men’s 200m freestyle, a title he’ll seek to defend this time around in Glasgow. He also nailed a 200m backstroke bronze medal as well.
Ruta Meilutyte, now retired, was the other medalist to help Lithuania finish 7th in the overall medal table last time around, having earned gold in the women’s 50m and 100m breaststroke events.

Last time he swam 200 BR LCM in 2017 he went 2:16 – he’s done with the 200 he got too swole bro. His PB in 200 SCM is 2:07 which he did a few times around the time he went 2:08 LCM so although he improved his turns recently there is no chance he’s going sub 2:05 let alone sub 2:00
