Prenot And Wilson Scratch Day 2 Atlanta Finals, Bates Picks 100 BK Over 50 FR

Saturday Finals Heat Sheet

After swimming the top seed in the men’s 200 breast, Cal Olympian Josh Prenot has scratched out of the A-final. Earlier in the meet, Prenot swam 1:01.65 in the 100 breast prelims. No. 4 seed Andrew Wilson also scratched the 200 breast final after hitting 2:13.87 this morning. Wilson placed 3rd in the 100 breast final at 1:00.76.

In the 100 back, No. 9 seed Bradley Dunham (56.21) and No. 18 seed Ryan Lochte (56.54) have scratched out of finals tonight. Meanwhile, Olympian Caeleb Dressel, who just got the 100 back Wave I cut at 56.69, chose to focus solely on the 50 free A-final. Dressel placed second this morning at 22.41, two-tenths behind Brazil’s Bruno Fratus (22.21).

SwimAtlanta 18-year-old Jack Aikins dropped his No. 13 seed in the 50 free (23.16) instead for his No. 6 seed in the 100 back of 55.77, racing against Cal Bears Daniel CarrRyan Murphy, and freshman Destin Lasco.

While finishing 8th in the 50 free prelims at 25.79 (+0.06s off seed), Florida Gator Talia Bates has decided to focus on the 100 back B-final. She qualified 16th at 1:02.87, just off the Wave I cut of 1:02.69.
