Emma Brinton from Delaware Swim Team has verbally committed to swim for Duquesne University.
“I chose Duquesne University because it was a perfect fit for both my academic and swimming goals. I felt like I had a great connection with the coaches and girls on the team, and I’m looking forward to being apart [sic] of the team as they move up in the A10 conference.
“I also appreciate the work Pablo Marmolejo has been doing with the Delaware Swim Team over the past year, making it possible for my class to commit to such great college programs.”
A senior at Avon Grove High School in West Grove, Pennsylvania, Brinton is a two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, a 3 time PIAA All-State honoree and a NISCA All-American as part of Avon Grove’s 400 free relay. She placed fifth in the 200 IM and ninth in the 100 back at the 2016 Pennsylvania AAA State Meet, and she swam legs on both Avon Grove’s free relays.
Her best times are:
SCY | LCM | |
200 back | 2:04.60 | 2:17.73 |
100 back | 56.02 | 1:06.99 |
50 back | 25.54 | 31.31 |
200 IM | 2:04.31 | 2:21.84 |
400 IM | 4:26.04 | 5:05.01 |
100 free | 52.09 | 59.71 |
200 free | 1:53.95 | 2:08.08 |
Brinton is a nice pick-up for the Dukes; her times all would have been top-10 swims for Duquesne during the 2015-16 season.
