Pastel leads San Clemente boys, Humphrey Dana Hills girls to Sea View League titles

In California, the Sea View League high school championships took place on Friday, with Aidan Pastel leading San Clemente to a boys title and Cassidy Humphrey doing the same for the Dana Hills girls.

Pastel dominated a pair of races. He went 1:39.09 early to pace the 200 free by almost three seconds. He added a sprint title later on, going 45.26 for the 100 free win.

In that 100, he bested San Juan Hills’ Daniel Gloude, who also had a nice meet. He was 46.09 in taking second there, but also had a championship swim in the 200 IM, going 1:51.41.

100 breaststroke champ Trent Pelini (56.82) was second in that 200 IM. Another solid performance came from Dana Hills’ Shane Forker, who won the 500 free with a 4:26.76.

Humphrey led the Dana Hills girls, winning a pair of titles on the day. Her 2:07.95 was enough to win the 200 IM, and she followed that up with a 56.76 just a few events later in the 100 fly.

Laguna Hills’ Grace Anderson picked up a pair of wins, going 1:52.20 in the 200 free and 4:58.16 in the 500.

Laguna Hills also had to fight for two relay wins – their 200 free relay touched out Mission Viejo by four tenths with a 1:41.22, and the 400 free relay team went 3:39.42 to nip San Clemente by just .06.
