Pancake Hot Take: Week 2, Day 2 of Conference Championship Season

This is Pancake Hot Take, where we rate racing on a scale of 1-5 pancakes, and give you our highlights. This is week 2 of major NCAA DI Conference championships, and we are taking you through every day of racing with our picks for the top swims

After Day 2 of 4 of the countries major conference meets, we’ve seen some very solid swimming across the board. However, nothing that is really mind blowing at this point. For that, we’re giving Day 2…

2 PANCAKES

Let’s get into it.

  • Race of the Day: Abbey Weitzeil drops a 21.03 50 free, tying what Erika Brown recorded at the SEC Champs last week as the #3 swim of all-time
  • Surprise of the Day: Florida State gets it done again in the 200 free relay at the ACC Champs. Even after losing 3 of their 4 relay studs and going nearly 1 second slower, they get their hand on the wall ahead of the competition
  • Syrup on Top: After losing a huge crop of THEIR relay studs, IU hasn’t missed a beat in the 400 medley relay, in which they’re the 2-time defending NCAA champs. They drop a 3:02.2 to win handily at the B1G champs

HOW MANY PANCAKES DO YOU THINK TODAY DESERVED? LET US KNOW IN THE COMMENTS BELOW

Stay tuned for Pancake Hot Takes every day after finals. And until then… stay hungry.
