MARQUETTE, Mich. – The NMU women’s swim team showed no rust after a month of no competition, posting record-breaking times and defeating UW-Green Bay by a score of 190-104.
Carlotta Santi broke the pool record in the 200 Freestyle with her time of 1:51.80.
The 400 Medley Relay team of Camilla Carbone, Zoe DeKievit, Txell Font, and Alyssa Bloser broke the pool record with their time of 3:53.42.
Yesterday, both Lauren Plockmeyer and Abbie Harned traveled to the UW-Stevens Point Invitational, where they posted NCAA Qualifying scores.

MARQUETTE, Mich. – The NMU men’s swim team showed no rust after a month of no competition, posting record-breaking times and defeating UW-Green Bay by a score of 174-114.
Leo Nolles broke two individual pool records, those being the 50 Freestyle (20.31) and 50 Butterfly (22.05). The butterfly time was also a team record.
The 400 Medley Relay team of Thibault Auger, Wyatt Ddickman, Ryan Lund, and Leo Nolles set a pool record with their time of 3:24.20, along with the 200 Freestyle Relay team of Leo Nolles, Will LaCount, Gabriel Fulconi, and Jef Leroux with their time of 1:22.00.
Tobie Stiles dove masterfully, setting team records in both the 1-meter 6-dives (316.88) and the 3-meter 6-dives (318.08).
Yesterday, Alex Oestreich traveled to the UW-Stevens Point invitational, where he posted an NCAA Qualifying score.

MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Green Bay swimming and diving teams returned from their holiday break to face Northern Michigan earlier Saturday afternoon. NMU’s teams outscored the Phoenix on both the men’s and women’s sides, but GB had plenty of positive performances.
MEN
John Burnard placed first in the 1,000-yard freestyle, giving Green Bay nine points after winning the race by a half-second. Sebby Smolecki tallied a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:45.40. His brother Alex, a freshman, took third in the 50-yard breaststroke, finishing with a time of 27.02. Another freshman, Eli Zimmerman, had an efficient outing in the 50-yard backstroke, posting a final time of 24.60. Zimmerman also placed second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 51.66. It was the day of the freshmen, with Max Kasal taking second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.02.
WOMEN
Alexa Kelly started the Phoenix off right with a second-place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:54.58. Esther Oswald took second in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 28.22. Later in the meet, she tallied a first-place completion of the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.79, winning by nearly two seconds. Grace Focault wasn’t far behind with a fifth-place finish, notching a time of 29.85.
DIVING RESULTS
Annie Frederickson was phenomenal for the Phoenix, taking first on the three-meter board with one of her top scores of the year (260.39 points), 16 points ahead of the second-place finisher from NMU. She followed that up with a second-place finish on the one-meter, totaling a score of 247.79. Junior Andy Groebner earned a second on the one-meter for the men with 258.45 points.
COMING UP
Green Bay’s next meet is next Friday at Wisconsin. The Phoenix have two more meets, including next Friday’s, before a diving invite at UIC on February 3 ends the regular season. The Horizon League Championships in Indianapolis is just over three weeks away.
