GREELEY, Colo. — Northern Colorado opened the home portion of its 2024-25 campaign with a 168-132 triumph over New Mexico State at the Butler-Hancock Pool.
The Bears won 30 of the 48 medals, including half of the 16 golds available. UNC claimed 12 silvers and 10 bronze finishes compared to eight golds, four silvers and six bronzes for the Aggies.
UNC opened with a win in the 200-yard Medley Relay with the quartet of Martina Yuki Trionfetti, Birgitta Ingolfsdottir, Payten Irwin and Vitoria Simioni. The foursome of Sloane Antonetz, Maria Erokhina, Ellyson Lombardi and Lora Kontar completed the 1-2 finish for the Bears.
Kyra Rabess won the 1000-yard freestyle and took silver in the 100 and 500-yard freestyle races.
Emma On-The-Hill touched the pad in third with a time of 10:48.58 in the 1000-yard freestyle.
Kontar added a second in the 200-yard freestyle and a third in the 100-yard free.
Lily Mayer finished third in the 200-yard freestyle.
Yuki Trionfetti took home second in the 100-yard backstroke and the 50-yard freestyle.
Antonetz went third in the 100-yard backstroke.
Erokhina won both the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke races and added a third in the 200-yard IM.
Ingolfsdottir took home second in the 100-yard breaststroke and third in the 200.
Lombardi and Irwin took home the top spots in the 100-yard butterfly. Amanda Da Silva Madsen joined the duo and swept the 200-yard butterfly.
Simioni claimed third in the 50-yard freestyle.
Daniela Piccinini placed second in the 200-yard backstroke.
Ariane Bernier inked a third in the 200-yard backstroke.
Agathi Manoli placed second in the 200-yard IM.
Simoni, Konter, Bernier and Gabi Fish teamed up for a second in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay in the final event of the day.
In diving action, Madison Berg won the 1-meter springboard, while Violet Noel earned a third-place finish. Berg recorded the top score in the 3-meter springboard.
The Bears host Wyoming at Butler-Hancock Pool at 3 p.m., Friday, Nov.1.
