Noah Cakir Climbs 13-14 Rankings At CHSAA City Champs; Chaminade Boys Repeat

St. Anthony’s freshman Noah Cakir delivered standout swims and the Chamindale High School boys won a repeat title at the 2022 CHSAA City Championships over the weekend.

Cakir, 14, won the 100 breaststroke in a time of 56.66, moving into 16th all-time in the boys’ 13-14 age group. Cakir set his previous best time of 57.00 back in December, which ranked him 31st.

Cakir also won the 200 IM in 1:51.96, lowering his previous best of 1:52.40 (set in January) to rank 41st all-time in the 13-14 age group.

Cakir also split 25.41 swimming breaststroke as St. Anthony’s won the 200 medley relay in 1:33.97.

Chaminade came out on top in the overall standings with 811.5 points, though the team only claimed one event win on the day.

The Chimande boys won a nail-biter in the 200 free relay, touching in 1:27.00 to edge out Iona Prep (1:27.02) and Fordham Prep (1:27.56).

Joining Cakir as a standout freshman performer was Archbishop Molloy’s Sean Green, who won the 500 free (4:30.36) and took third in the 200 free (1:41.94). In the 500, Green owns a best time of 4:30.02 which ranks him 24th in the 13-14 age group.
