(NLI Photos) Longhorns add backstroker Butler

Jared Butler of Rockwall, TX signed his National Letter of Intent to swim for the University of Texas beginning in the fall of 2014.

Butler is primarily a backstroker: his best times are 51.56 and 1:49.32 in the 100 and 200 respectively. He trains at Rockwall Center of Excellence and swims for Rockwall-Heath High School.

Not to mention Jonathan Roberts and Austin Temple. Just using flat start times, Butler, Temple, Schooling, Ringgold come out to a 3:15.5 medley relay. And Roberts might be a better backstroker than Butler. 23.76 lead off in the 200 medley relay. You expect some more development from these guys, and throw in that Jack Conger fellow, and I’d say it looks like Texas is pretty set with its medley relays for the next few years.
