Making the trip to Lincoln, Nebraska from Trieste, Italy this fall, Caterina Bisiacchi has announced her intent to join the University of Nebraska as a freshman in the school’s class of 2027.

Last season, Nebraska finished in 10th out of 12 teams at the 2023 Big Ten Conference Championships. The team was led by senior Shannon Stott, who scored 67 points for the team by way of three A-finals appearances (200 free, 500 free, 200 fly).
When Bisiacchi arrives on campus, she will be the second Italian to join the Huskers in as many seasons. This year, the country was represented by Italian national Giulia Marchi, a freshman on the team.
Bisiacchi will join a freshman class that will be largely international, with only one of the team’s current commitments for this fall coming from the United States. Joining her this fall at Nebraska will be Amelia Riggot of Enlgan, Beatrix Tanko of Hungary, Anna Vlachou of Greece, Austria’s Anastasia Tichy, and American Jenna Brown.
Of her future classmates in Lincoln, Bisiacchi will likely spend the majority of her time competing with Tichy of Austria. Coming into the summer, Tichy boasts slightly faster times in the butterfly events while Bisiacchi leads in the 200 free.
