On Saturday at the National Age Group Challenge meet in Germantown, Maryland, a group of four 11-12 year old boys broke the National Age Group Record in the 400 yard medley relay.

The team of Ryan CatronDarius TruongAnthony Nguyen, and Leo Goldblatt combined for a 3:52.10. That took almost a second off of the 2009 Aquazot Swim Club relay of Thomas Smith, Ken Takahashi, Justin Hanson, and Matthew Wong.

  • Ryan Catron – backstroke, 55.64

  • Anthony Nguyen – butterfly, 58.47
  • Leo Goldblatt – freestyle, 52.36

Goldblatt and Nguyen both train at the Burke training site for NCAP under Chris Natoli; Catron trains at the Lee District facility under Paul Makin; and Truong trains at the Tysons facility under Marilyn Mangles.
