SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State men’s swimming and diving team is set to compete for the first time this season on Nov. 7 at Missouri beginning at noon.
“We are really looking forward to getting back to racing next week,” Missouri State head swimming and diving coach Dave Collins said. “Our men have done a great job adapting to the challenges of a non-traditional summer and fall. This will have been the longest period of time without racing most of our athletes have had since they started the sport at a young age. I know they are excited to get back into competition with their teammates.”
Last time the Bears faced the Tigers was on Nov. 2, 2019 and the MSU men fell 166.5-70.5 against the nationally ranked Tigers. Pawel Krawczyk pulled third place points in the 200 and 500 freestyle for the Bears. The men are 8-19 all-time against the Tigers.
The event order for next Saturday is: 200 medley relay, 1000 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, 50 freestyle, 3 meter diving, 100 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 200 breaststroke, 500 freestyle, 100 fly, 1 meter diving, 200 IM and the 400 free relay.
Attendance is limited to a team pass list reserved for family members, but the meet will be streamed live on SEC Network+.
The men are led by seniors Michael Claunch and Michael Hampel The team has the addition of six freshman this year as well.
