2025 ANTWERP DIAMOND SPEEDO RACE

The 2025 Antwerp Diamond Speedo Race got underway today from Belgium, with the two-day competition representing a World Championships qualifier for those able to step up.

The women’s 50m free saw Dutch ace Milou van Wijk register a time of 24.55 to get to the wall first, representing one of three athletes to dip under the 25-second barrier.

20-year-old van Wijk stopped the clock at 24.55 to earn the top spot, holding a slight advantage over Belgium’s Florine Gaspard who scored silver in 24.63. Belgium’s Roos Vanotterdijk rounded out the podium in 24.93.

Van Wijk’s performance was within range of her season-best performance of 24.48 notched at last month’s Edinburgh International Meet. That time rendered her #2 in the world this season.

23-year-old Gaspard now checks in as the 6th-best performer in the world this season.
