Mid-Season Power Rankings: Division II Women

The time has come for many College Swimmers to be resting at home for the short winter breaks that they have before returning to school to commence the dreaded Winter Training.  There is a positive to this though, it means that most teams also just came off of a mid-season rest meet which really helps to start to form the picture of what the NCAA Championship are going to look like.

So with that in mind, here is a list of the Power Rankings for the Division II Women.  Unlike other polls, this poll is used as a predictor to determine the outcome of the NCAA Championships.  Taking into account times and splash limits this is the best gauge to tell what might shake-down in March.  Other polls try to determine who would win in a head to head dual, but we wanted to look at the depth within each team and really try and create the best Power Ranking available, think of it as the BCS of Swimming.  Without further ado, here are the Rankings:

  1. Drury

Its called peaking early. If she can go faster 2 months from now, great. If not, then I told you so.

Coach Dan’l has done an outstanding job with that team. Your criticism is unwarranted.

Yes, one record gets set and everyone loses their mind. Again, I say wait and see 2 months from now to see if similar results follow.

this is why they are MID SEASON rankings. Not 2 months from now rankings. They will make another list, read the rankings for what they are….mid season.

and also, why not lose their mind? She broke the NCAA record. No female in the history of division II has ever swam that fast in that event. Its a big deal. So let them praise it.

Tall n wet, aka hank, delta state women are third because these are mid season rankings and they had an NCAA record breaker along with a good list of near A cuts and top 10 swims. The women are better than they have ever been at delta.

I dont understand why Delta State is 3rd. The girls have been fast, yes, but I wouldnt be surprised if they fell in the rankings 2 months from now. If only their coach could make their guys as fast…
