Following a four-week break from competition, the West Virginia University men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams return to action at the Orange Bowl Classic in Key Largo, Florida, on Saturday, Jan. 3.
“We’re looking forward to another excellent Orange Bowl Classic,” said coach Vic Riggs. “Kelli and the Jacobs Aquatic staff make us feel welcome and go out of their way to make our time here productive.”
This marks the third consecutive year West Virginia will compete in the event. A season ago, the men placed second behind the defending national champion Michigan Wolverines, while the women took fourth overall.
The trip has featured a week of training in the Florida Keys to be concluded with a sprint-style meet on Saturday. Some of the schools participating in the event include Michigan, Duke, George Mason and Florida International.
“Doc and the Orange Bowl Classic Committee run a great meet,” Riggs said. “We look forward to continuing our relationship.”
