Genny Hauser from Raleigh, North Carolina has announced her commitment to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington for this fall. Hauser is a member of the Marlins of Raleigh swim club.
Last March at the Champions Series-Greensboro Hauser swam best times in both the 100 and 200 free, two of her best events. In the 100 free her time of 53.38 was good enough to qualify her for the D final. Two weeks later at the North Carolina Tar Heel State Meet she swam to a best time in the 200 back, finishing 6th in 2:08.69.

UNC-Wilmington finished 6th at the 2020 Colonial Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships. The Seahawks were led by Evan Arsenault who is currently finishing up her junior year. Arsenault was the conference champion in the 50 free, as well as taking 3rd and 4th in the 100 and 200 freestyles respectively.
With her current best times Hauser would have narrowly missed qualifying for finals in her main events. While she would have missed finals individually, she would have swam on the Seahawk’s 800 free relay. Her best time would have been the fourth-best on the team this season. Last year’s relay was made up of Arsenault and three freshmen, meaning all four will be returning next season. This year’s freshman class led the team in points scored at the CAA Championships.
Hauser will be joining Marlins of Raleigh teammate Hannalee Ellison as a member of UNCW’s class of 2024.
