Charlotte, North Carolina-based Lindsey Cohee has verbally committed to Liberty University. Cohee is a recent transplant to North Carolina from Florida. Swimming for Ocala’s Vanguard High School at the 2015 FHSAA Class 3A Championship last fall, she was runner-up in the 100 fly (56.36) and finished eighth in the 200 IM (2:11.28).
Not long after representing YMCA of Central Florida at the 2016 YMCA Short Course National Championships, where she competed in the 100/200 fly and 200/400 IM and was a finalist in both butterfly events, Cohee moved to North Carolina. She now swims for SwimMAC Carolina, with whom she competed at the Atlanta Futures last summer, placing fifth in the 100m fly.
Top times:
- 100 Fly 2/1.02.01
- 200 Fly 2:01.5/2:17.1
Cohee will join the following commits to the Liberty University class of 2021: Emily Manly, Kiah Francis, and Payton Keiner.
“I am excited to announce Liberty University as my school of choice! I love Liberty’s breath-taking view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and their gorgeous campus buildings and am confident that this is where the Lord wants me to be. I am impressed with how far coach Jake and coach Jessica have taken their team in such a short time. Coach Jake has done a fantastic job designing a state-of-the-art training facility for his swimmers and I can’t wait to be a part of their program. Go Flames!!”
