University of Denver Hilltoppers are seeking assistant coaches for our age group program.  Athlete age & ability to be determined by group assignment.  We are hiring coaches for multiple training groups.  Positions may include one or two practice groups depending on applicant qualifications and availability.

Compensation: $21-24/hr.  Sick time accrued by hours worked.

Qualifications:

1. Coach Member in good standing with USA Swimming
2. Interested in educational growth and professional development.
3. Strong communication skills both verbal and written
4. Value the importance of team culture and work within framework of team philosophy.

Responsibilities:

1. Create season plan ensuring continuity of group training philosophy within context of the long-term athlete team development plan
2. Work with other coaches above and below respective group to ensure athlete advancement is facilitated within the program.
3. Write daily workouts for both water and dryland.
4. Meet entries for respective training group
5. Communication to parents and athletes within respective training groups.
6. Attend weekly staff meetings.
7. Attend all competitions for respective training groups.

Swim Meet Travel Opportunities 1-3 meet/year (5-15 days of travel)

1. May assist Head Coach on travel trips
2. May drive University rented vehicles and transport athletes
3. Chaperone athletes while traveling

Safety and Risk Management

1. Ensure all accident/incident reports have been completed correctly and reports have been sent to the appropriate University office.
2. Ensure staff is conducting safety checks of pool, courts, studios, locker rooms, equipment prior to the start of the activity, practice, workout, or events.

Customer Service

1. Model excellence in all customer interactions to serve as an example for other divisional full and part time staff.
2. Maintain proper uniform/appearance at all times when representing the University of Denver and the Division of Athletics & Recreation.
3. Follow up with all staff and customers in a timely manner and follow through on all requests.
4. Maintain problem solving perspective at all times related to customer service interactions. This includes addressing issues and offering solutions.
5. Address facility and equipment issues using established work order/work request processes. Ensure adequate supply levels, equipment functionality and facility standards related to programs.

Professionalism

1. Communicate effectively and appropriately to all patrons, staff members, potential customers, and colleagues or professional contacts.
2. Attend and participate in Colorado Swimming local governance to include but not limited to: CSI Swimposium and House of Delegates meetings.

Univ of Denver Pioneers assistant coach.

The Pioneers are looking for an unpaid Assistant coach.  The Pioneers are a Division 1 Women’s and Men’s program that are currently affiliated with the Summit League Conference.

The two positions for the Hilltoppers and the Pioneers may be filled by the same person as practices are adjacent to each other in our evening pool schedule, but are not linked together.  Coaches interested in the Collegiate Position should contact Alicia Franklin at [email protected]
