Qualifications

Education and Certifications –A 4-year college degree is required.  ASCA level 3 or higher preferred.

Experience – Five or more years of competitive swimming coaching experience, YMCA experience a plus, with a background in supervising and developing swimmers, coaches, and volunteers.  Must be safe sport certified.

 

Essential Functions

  • Assists in directing the operation of the YSSC program, including coaching and training of swimmers, supervision of coaches, coordination of volunteers, and management of all aspects of meets.
  • Supports the mission of the YMCA through program, staff, and volunteer development and leadership.
  • Ensures all certifications are up to date for staff.
  • Monitors program registrations and program retention to ensure quality programming is being implemented and promoted throughout the entire YSSC program.
  • Organizes the year-round meet calendar and ensures all details related to registration is properly coordinated for each meet.
  • Engages with other aquatics staff to ensure proper coordination is in place for connecting swimmers from YMCA swim lessons to placement on swim team with the appropriate timing.
  • Ensures a safe and supportive environment exists for all participants, coaches, and volunteers.
  • Assists in the financial development activities of the swim team program to meet or exceed the annual campaign goal.
  • Work directly with the Head Coach to plan the programming of the Y-Spartaquatics Swim Club.
  • Assist in planning for seasonal as well as long term goals for the swim team as well as their specific practice groups.
  • Lead Coach for at least 2 practice groups within the Senior and Junior programs
  • Manage all aspects of the YSSC Senior Program at the Middle Tyger YMCA: Including staffing, schedule, curriculum, and any meets offered to YSSC swimmers.
  • Provide parent/swimmer communication through phone, email, and website. Regular updates will be provided on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities:

The Waterproof Swim Team  is searching for a Head Coach. Our Guatemalan based Team is owned by 2004, 2008 Olympic Swimmer, Gisela Morales. The Team has 60+ athletes ranging from novice to Guatemalan National level athletes. We have two locations with the team, one in Zona 16 and another one in San Cristobal in the City of Guatemala. They are both 45 min apart from each other in car. 

 

The Waterproof Swim Team is structured in 4 different level programs ranging from 8 to 18 years old and separated by days and training times during the week. The Head Coach position will lead a team of 5 coaches that will help this swimmers succeed as athletes, as students and specially as humans. 

 

Our Swim Team is part of our nationally recognized Swim Academy with 12 years in business,  4 locations, 4100+ students and 136 passionate instructors and employees. Waterproof Swim Academy is privately owned and operated and the Waterproof Swim Team as part of the Academy is managed with a group of national coaches with mentorship from our Olympic Director, Gisela Morales for business and leadership development. 

 

The goal of the program is to provide QUALITY instruction for INTEGRAL development of our athletes, offering the best in a comprehensive technique based program where our swimmers are empowered to truly strive for their fullest potential. The foundation of the program is built on character and good habits development with an emphasis on building a culture of building excellence in all areas of life amongst the athletes. 

 

We are looking for a high energy head coach that can work with all our staff to create and manage systems that support the vision for the team. In Waterproof we want to continue teaching cutting edge age appropriate techniques, habits and life skills that will encourage and challenge our athletes. We need a head coach that can lead, create and manage a career based competitive plan that will make possible School, Collegiate, National, and even Olympic medal ambitions possible. Our 10 year BHAG goal is to qualify one of our swimmers to the Olympic games by 2032. 

Scope of Assignment

  • On deck coaching and supervision of all swimmer groups.
  • Develop and oversee training programs for all age groups. 
  • Lead the development and implementation of overall team philosophy on coaching, swimmer development, and team dynamics. 
  • Supervise and mentor coaching staff in order to continue their growth and development. 
  • Establish workout groups, schedules, and criteria for advancement through collaboration with coaching staff.

Responsibilities

Recruiting

  1. Organize and execute an aggressive recruiting program of the swim academy swimmers and of other swimmers in the city with talent.
  2. Recruit students who have a legitimate chance of succeeding academically and socially at the college level, central american, pan american and olympic level.

Contact with Four-Year Schools and Professionals

  1. Contact four-year coaches about present student-athletes who have a desire to attend their institution.
  2. Respond to correspondence and questionnaires from four-year schools and professional teams that request information about our student-athletes.
  3. Encourage four-year coaches to visit our swim academy to recruit our student-athletes.
  4. Establish strategic alliances so that our swimmers can travel to summer camps, swim meets, etc, with those Schools or professionals.

Public Relations

  1. Collaborate with public information specialists on all collateral pertaining to the team; speak publicly when invited.
  2. Respond to requests from the media.
  3. Always promote our swim team and our athletes. 
  4. Communicate with the marketing team to promote our team within our community, social media and web page. 

Swimmer Success

  1. Monitor swimmers concerning grades and class schedules.
  2. Recommend appropriate student resources and services.
  3. Monitor weekly, semester, and yearly academic progress of swimmers.
  4. Provide encouragement and support to swimmers, administer appropriate discipline and, if necessary, dismiss swimmers for misconduct.

 

Travel

  1. Register swimmers to swim meets in their events in a timely manner.
  2. Prepare trip itinerary for swimmers and coaches and coordinate with parents of swimmers on time the preparations for the swim meet, swim camp or travel.
  3. Submit to the leadership team the required approval for traveling and communicate with all departments within our organization to communicate all achievements of the swimmers.

Budgets and Inventories:

  1. Assist in preparing budget for his/her sport program; maintain budget and stay within budget; assist equipment person with inventory; check inventory; and make recommendations for annual equipment/uniform purchases.

Professional Growth

  1. Attend staff meetings and Conference and International coaches’ meetings.
  2. Attend coaching clinics.
  3. Keep abreast of current literature in the field.
  4. Maintain membership and participate in meetings at the local and international coaches associations.
  5. Provide Swim Academy Director and leadership team with monthly, quarterly and yearly summaries, KPIs and reports.

Other Duties

  1. Ensure that each swimmer completes a physical exam every year.
  2. Communicate with the Leadership Team and parents regarding injuries/treatment/training. 
  3. Responsible for each swimmer submitting eligibility forms and records by established deadlines.
  4. Assist swimmers with meeting eligibility requirements if required.
  5. Provide leadership in articulating the program to the Governing Board, administration, community, faculty, parents and swimmers.
  6. Collaborate with swim academy personnel as required.
  7. Pass annual compliance examinations.
  8. Attend our organizations  in-service and other required community functions and activities.
  9. Possess a valid Guatemalan Driver License at all times. 
  10. Drive District vehicles as needed.
  11. Is willing to learn or already can speak, write and understand Spanish fluently. 


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Any bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience; or
  • Any associate degree and six years of professional experience.
  • Demonstrated evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds in a swim team environment.

The professional experience required must be directly related to Swimming as a Swimmer, former coach, assistant coach of a Swim Team, Club, Colleague or University with more than 60+ swimmers.

TPA is a member of Florida Swimming, Inc. which is a division of United States Swimming. Florida Swimming is one of 95 Local Swim Committees (LSC) that implement USA rules at the local level. Position Summary:
The Trinity Prep Aquatics Director leads the programming, operations, maintenance, and administration of Trinity Prep Aquatics and its facility. Duties and Responsibilities:

TSA is a USAS year-round competitive swim team program which offers superior professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of our team is to provide every member with an opportunity to improve their swimming skills and achieve success at their level of ability, from novice to international competitor. TSA also incorporates an active swim school and master’s programs. TSA’s Head Coach is responsible for all levels of our swimming program and shall represent TSA both on-deck and at all governing body meetings.  This includes assigning swimmers to the appropriate practice groups, coaching the highest level(s) of the program, providing feedback to our swimmers and parents, assisting those seeking information regarding college swim programs, and taking an active role in retaining and recruiting swimmers.  Our Head Coach also oversees the hiring, supervision and assignment of duties to the assistant coaches.  In addition, our Head Coach attends all monthly Board meetings providing a coaching update as well as preparing the annual proposed budget.   In the swim community, our Head Coach is responsible for fostering and maintaining relationships affiliated with TSA and assuming an active role within Missouri Valley Swimming.

Head Coach – Topeka Swim Association

                Swim program responsibilities

The head coach of the Topeka Swim Association will:

  1. Be responsible for all levels of the swimming program.
  2. Assume primary coaching responsibility for the highest level(s) of the swim program.
  3. Assign and supervise duties to assistant coaches for other levels of workout groups.
  4. Assign swimmers to workout groups and design division of the swimmers to workout groups as is appropriate to the swimmers’ development, the financial resources of TSA and adequate pool and workout time availability.
  5. Set the team meet schedule and assure that there is a coach on deck at each swim meet.  It is assumed that the head coach will attend the highest-level meet available if there is a conflict.

              Relationship with assistant coaches and other support staff

The head coach of the Topeka Swim Association will:

  1. Oversee the hiring, supervising, and managing the employees of the Topeka Swim Association.
  2. Chair the search committee for any assistant coaches and/or support staff.
  3. Ensure that all USA Swimming requirements are followed in the hiring process.
  4. Meet regularly with the assistant coaches and with other employees of TSA.
  5. Provide written evaluations and make salary and other recommendations to the board of directors regarding all other employees of TSA.

              Relationship with the governing board

The head coach of the Topeka Swim Association will:

  1. Attend all board meetings, retreats and other board functions.
  2. Provide reports to the board monthly, either in written or oral form.
  3. Provide written reports to the board summarizing the accomplishments and areas in need of improvement for the entire swim program in April and September of each year.  Written reports should provide a comprehensive program plan, including methods for recruitment and retention of athletes.

  • Attend all Open Days (4 per year) to present and meet with prospective student athletes.
  • Organise recruitment visits to key programmes and/or key athletes (domestic only) if appropriate.
  • Ongoing communication with high-profile recruitment targets, coaches (domestic and international) and programmes both online and in-person.
  • Arrange recruitment visits for athletes to come to Loughborough, planning detailed recruitment trips for key targets.
  • Liaise with Loughborough Sport Athlete Recruitment and Talent Manager to ensure we are maximising recruitment opportunities and adhering to Loughborough Sport recruitment processes.

 Programme Administration

  • Work collaboratively with the Swimming Programme Co-ordinator to ensure the smooth running of the programme with clear communication in all matters related to the day-to-day operation of Loughborough Swimming.
  • Liaise with Loughborough Sport facility staff on facility usage and participate in relevant meetings with the facility managers as required.
  • Work with the Director of Swimming to develop strategic plans for the swimming programme.
  • Work with other members of Loughborough Sport staff to promote the profile of Loughborough University, Loughborough Sport and Loughborough Swimming. This may include activities such as:

–           providing content for use on social media, the website and other promotional publications

–           assisting in attracting sponsors

Partnerships

  • Explore opportunities to collaborate with GB Aquatics to enhance the overall training environment at Loughborough for the mutual benefit of both programmes.
  • Provide advice, support and assistance to the AU Squad coaches and club committee.
  • Engage with alumni, sponsors and stakeholders to support the programme’s growth and development.
  • Actively participate in the Loughborough Sport ecosystem through collaboration with other performance programmes, coach collaboration activities and performance sport meetings.

 Budgetary Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Swimming in managing and monitoring the budget for the performance programme.
  • Work with the Director of Swimming to maximise the impact of our Scholarship budget.
  • Participate in the development of income generating activities that can financially support the performance programme.

General Requirements

  • Contribute to the sharing of coaching ideas and skills within the high-performance educational forums available on campus.
  • Actively work to promote Loughborough University sport and Loughborough Swimming.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the President and Executive Director, the Program Director and Head Water Polo Coach is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the RBAC’s year-round water polo program, including providing and coordinating high quality coaching of athletes ranging ability from beginner to elite levels. The Head Coach will work closely with the RBAC’s Executive staff members to coordinate team needs and strategically plan to maximize opportunities for the program and organization.  This position may provide direct supervision to salaried staff and hourly employees, and will oversee the management of the team budget.

General Responsibilities:

  • Develop and/or coordinate with assistant coaches season plans and training programs for all age-group teams;
  • Monitor budget to ensure team is fiscally responsible and revenue and expenditures are within allocated budget;
  • Plan and coordinate practice sessions, competitions and tournaments; including bids, and facility requests for appropriate space and times;    
  • Provide ongoing communication and feedback to athletes and parents, as appropriate, regarding performance, achieving individual goals, and practice, meet and schedule changes;
  • Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies for athletes on the team;
  • Recruit, hire, assign team/group responsibilities and evaluate coaching and support staff;

  • Lead team in accordance with all applicable rules, regulations and policies in which teams and athletes participate and compete; 
  • Establish goals to guide overall direction of the team and develop a culture that promotes character development as well as success in the pool; 
  • Maintain, inventory, and ensure proper storage of all equipment, and make recommendations for team needs;
  • Participate in fundraising activities for the team and RBAC; and 
  • Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with athletes, boosters, parents, and other RBAC staff members.

Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience:
Minimum of 5-10 years of progressively responsible coaching experience in an age-group water polo coaching program, organization, or club.

Knowledge, Abilities and/or Skills:

  • Member in good standing with USA Water Polo Coach Membership;
  • Familiar with USA Water Polo Junior Olympic requirements, qualifying standards, and procedures;
  • Advanced knowledge of Safe Sport policies and procedures;

About our Masters Swim Team:

Our club is a USMS year-round team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages (18 yrs+) and abilities. We have a competitive group, from former Olympians and D1 Collegiate swimmers to triathletes and dedicated fitness swimmers. Our “slow” lanes do 100y repeats on a 2:00 send-off. Workouts are always challenging, but we make it fun by accepting that challenge and supporting our teammates every step of the way. We have only one rule; EVERYONE TRIES TO MAKE THE WORKOUT BETTER FOR EVERYONE ELSE IN THE POOL. Practices take place at the world-famous Juanita Aquatics Center located on the campus of Juanita High School in Kirkland, WA.

Responsibilities Include:

Provide training appropriate for swim club members to include but not limited to the following:

  • Develop season and practice goals for all training groups (Categories 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Senior, Masters, and Pre-Competitive) to meet the program’s goals.
  • Develop season training plans for stroke technique progression and dryland progression, as appropriate, for all levels and effectively communicate to swimmers and coaches.
  • Coach specific training groups on a daily basis and other groups on a temporary basis as may be required to maintain the continuity of the training groups.

  • Manage the meet calendar, entries, and results. Recruit visiting swim teams for home meets. Oversee registration of home and away meets.
  • In coordination with the Board of Directors, oversee the planning of home meets, team travel, team fundraising, and team social functions.
  • Recruit volunteers to assist as officials, timers, and others as necessary to assist with meets and team functions.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred minimum of 5 years of coaching experience in a competitive swim environment.
  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree and ASCA Level 3 or higher.
  • Extensive experience as a member of a competitive swim team will be highly valued.
  • Experience in developing swimmers from entry level swimmers to Junior National and/or elite levels.
  • Experience with implementing dryland training programs for swimmers.
  • Ability to work well with and effectively communicate with swimmers, parents, and staff.
  • Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Hy-Tek and Team Unify; Basic financial skill set including but not limited to P&L statements and budget process.
