Introduction
This full-time position is located primarily at the satellite site at Sunset Bluffs, 100 Caverly Court,
Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. Some practices are held at other sites, including the Sonner Aquatic
Facility, 1013 Jones Franklin Road, Raleigh, North Carolina and the Sunset North Pool, 215 Kingsport
Road in Holly Springs, North Carolina. The position requires an average of seventeen+ (17) hours per
week as a Lead Coach, ten+ (10) hours per week as an Assistant Coach, and four+ (4) hours per week
performing administrative responsibilities. Meet attendance, as determined by the Head Age Group
Coach and/or the Head Coach of the swim team, is expected. Weekend and evening hours are
expected.
Primary Duties
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:
• Leading three swim team practice groups, including writing workouts and taking attendance;
• Writing and sending weekly emails to practice groups led by the Lead Coach;
• Preparing and disseminating athlete progress reports and report cards for the athletes in the
practice groups led by the Lead Coach;
• Assisting with a minimum of three swim team practice groups;
• Participating in RSA swim team recruiting activities, as requested by the Head Age Group
Coach, Head Coach and/or Executive Director;
• Attending swim meets as requested by the Head Age Group Coach or Head Coach of the swim
team;
• Interacting in person, by phone and via electronic communication with parents and guardians

The Cincinnati Marlins are seeking a full time Senior/Age Group Swim Coach. The Cincinnati Marlins are a not for profit year round swim club based in two locations in the greater Cincinnati area. Our central location is at the newly renovated Keating Natatorium at St. Xavier High School in Finneytown. Our South site is at Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, Kentucky. The Marlins provide programming for nearly 400 members across our lessons, pre-competitive, competitive, water polo, and master’s groups.

A successful candidate will bring an abundance of positive energy and focus to the senior swimmers in the club and will also have responsibilities in the age group program. The Senior Coach will report directly to the Head Coach/CEO. They will work collaboratively with the Associate Head Coach and the South site lead to assist, identify, and guide athletes towards the Senior level within the Marlins. Working with athletes to set and achieve their goals from Age Group State to Trials and into collegiate swimming is an absolute must. This position will consist of on deck coaching, administrative duties, mentoring of assistant coaches, and assisting the Head Coach/CEO with assigned tasks.

We are seeking a team member with a TEAM first mentality who is driven to learn, share, grow, and work hard. Candidates must be energetic, motivated, and be able to encourage all of the athletes in our club with positive energy. Competency in teaching and developing stroke technique is a must. Understanding and previous experience with the USA Swimming American Development Model is preferred.

Senior Coach Responsibilities

  • Available to coach in the mornings, evenings, and weekends throughout the year.
  • Must be able to attend 1-2 weekend meets per month or more depending on the time of year.

This includes overseeing age group and senior swimming, masters swimming, swim lessons, and any other aquatic program revenue streams.  The Executive Director will be expected to further develop the role and responsibilities, creating a robust framework for the organization’s future. Position Summary – Head Coach, Southeastern Swim Club:

Southeastern Swim Club (SSC) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Swim Coach to lead our USA Swimming club based in Fishers, IN. This individual will also be expected to apply for the position of Head Swim Coach at Hamilton Southeastern High School, integrating responsibilities to foster a unified and successful swimming program. This role comes with an extensive full time and part time set of coaches as well as one vacant full-time coaching position for this role to fill.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Coaching:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for swimmers of all levels, focusing on technique, endurance, and competitive performance.

About US: Timm Swimm Inc. dba Danvers YMCA Dolfins is entering in their fourth season as a year-round competitive Swim Team. We are currently, predominately a 13 & Under technique focused swim program looking to take the next step in the development of the program. We currently have three practice groups: Junior Academy (6-12), Academy White (7-12), Academy Red (9-13). The Dolfins practice out of the Danvers Community YMCA (5 lanes/25 yards) and Gordon College (6 lanes/25 yards) locations. With the backing of the Swimm with Timm swim lesson program, the program has rapidly expanded the Academy since it was initiated in 2020 to approximately 70 members, while the Junior Academy has stayed a consistant 30 swimmers throughout the season. We are separate, yet associated with the Danvers Community YMCA so we have the advantage of also getting to swim the season as a YMCA team and go to YMCA Championship meets as well as USA Swimming events. We are seeking a Head Coach to lead the next phase of the program as we continue to grow and evolve the program for the 2024-2025 season.

  • Prepares and submits all necessary information for swim meets and attend meets as assigned.
  • Supports the Association Director of Competitive Swimming by monitoring the budget and adhering to the budget philosophy of the YMCA of the Triangle.
  • Assists in Annual Campaign by recruiting volunteers and supporting team events in coordination with campaign efforts.
  • Other duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred with at least 3 years coaching experience including age group coaching.
  • Models a commitment to the YMCA Mission, Cause, values and leadership competency model.
  • ASCA level 3 swimming coach certifications preferred.
  • Strong ability to be an engaging presence leading staff and programs.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Proven skills in human relations, public speaking, program management, and volunteer development.
  • Outstanding communication skills, the ability to determine and set priorities, manage his/her staff members work schedule; as well as the capacity to handle multiple tasks appropriately in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Multi-lingual desired but not required.
  • Maintain necessary certifications including CPR, First Aid, Coaches Safety Training and Lifeguard training.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive required.

The Assistant Swimming Coach is responsible for assisting the head swimming coach in all aspects of coaching. Involving recruiting, retaining members, and overall, in-season/off-season strategies/programs. The Assistant Swimming Coach will also serve in a second college assigned position: Housing Assistant. The employment in the above position is contingent upon the Assistant Swimming Coach being employed in both assigned positions.

Wage: $4,000 for 12 months Coaching and $12,000 for 12 months Housing Assistant (no benefits). Room and board included (live-in position).’

Examples of Duties
Constant (67-100%)
Assist the head coach in managing and directing the swimming program.
Asist the head swimming coach with all aspects of the team including training, competing, and scheduling.
Assist with academic progress of students athletes.
Assists with recruiting including calling and high school visits of prospective student athlete.

Frequent (34-66%)
Commits to and is responsible for adhering to all rules and regulations set forth for the team, the College, NJCAA and ICCAC with the utmost integrity.
Travel outside the Area V recruitment areas.
Responsible for distribution and accumulation of grades for team, as well as grade checks.
Implementing off season workouts.

Occasional (10-33%)

Assist head coach with fundraising projects.
Attend meetings as necessary.
Assist in the promotion and support of the department.
Perform other duties as assigned.
