JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. The successful candidate must have a background in senior level coaching and development of swimmers. 

2. Current USA Swimming background check, CPR, First Aid, and Safety Training for Swimming Coaches certifications are required. College degree preferred. 

3. Dryland training experience is a plus. 

4. ASCA certification level 2 or higher is desired.

What You’ll Do

25% Coaching

  • Assists the Director, Swimming & Diving the ongoing teaching and instruction of Cadet-athletes in the performance of their sport such as, but not limited to, games, practices, individual and team workouts, and conditioning sessions.

5% Academics

25% Administrative

Waterloo Swimming is seeking a Lead Group Coach for one of our 11-14 year old training groups for the 2024-2025 SCY Season. 

Waterloo Swimming is a USA Swimming Silver Medal swim club located in North Austin, TX. Currently operating out of two locations: one 50M Olympic-sized pool and one 25Y pool, WLOO is home to just over 450 athletes ranging from Olympic Trials qualifiers to beginning club swimmers. 

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable swim coach to direct and lead one of our middle school training groups. This group ranges in age from 11-14. The swimmers in this group are aiming to achieve BB and A times on the USA National Age Group Motivational Time Standards in multiple strokes and be competitive at the LSC Championship meet. 

Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate technique-driven processes in their practice writing and season plan as well speak about their experience in developing athletes, administrative work off-deck, and effectively communicating with athletes, parents, and staff. 

We believe the best coaches have had experience at all levels of our sport, and it is our goal to provide that education to our entire staff. Each WLOO coach has the opportunity to work with multiple groups in our program as well as take the lead on team projects such as meet management, clinic operations, parent education or new swimmer outreach to further help build their resumes.

Head Coach developing our swimmers’ skills. The coach will lead approximately twelve to

are a large part of what makes the Virginia Gators a high-level swim program and providing

The Opportunity
757swim is currently seeking an Executive Director to join our team. The Executive Director
(ED) reports directly to the Board of Directors (BOD) and is subject to the organization’s official
bylaws. The ED will build and grow a culture of excellence for 757swim, providing strategic
direction and daily operational oversight to all senior staff ensuring the achievement of the
organization’s mission, as well as the annual goals and objectives. The ED will also have the
experience and ability to contribute as a coach to support group practice needs. The ED will
lead the development of the organization as a strategic partner to the BOD and will participate
and advise on the impact of long-range planning, and the introduction of new programs and
strategies. They will work closely with the Board of Directors to successfully fulfill its
governance function through accurate and timely reporting, financial stewardship, program
growth and sustainment, adequate and effective communication, and adherence first and
foremost to the mission of 757swim.

Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the entire organization to include;
o Budget development, adherence, and reporting
o Monthly BOD reporting
o Leading leadership staff meetings

Collaborate with all senior leaders to develop and implement the strategic goals and
objectives of the organization

Develop marketable service delivery models consistent with the mission of the
organization

Nurture existing relationships with community partners and expand collaborative
partnership opportunities through direct, individual outreach to targeted entities

Collaborate with the senior leadership team to identify potential partnerships, develop
presentation and marketing materials and lead partnership presentations

Provide leadership and guidance to the internal teams (wet and dry side) to streamline
the business development processes and provide operational input to program designs
to ensure consistency in program delivery capabilities and expectations

Develop and provide operational strategic recommendations to the BOD on personnel
resource and infrastructure analysis and projections

Engage senior leaders for research, evaluation, and development training to facilitate
cross-department collaboration that ensures that all financial, program, and facility
needs are met

Assure that the organization and its mission is consistently presented in a strong,
positive manner to all relevant stakeholders

Collaborate with the BOD and Community partners on new funding opportunities.

Participate in meetings, the development of budgets, and roll out of partnerships
Responsible for coaching an age group or senior level practice group

Maintain a positive practice and meet environment

Follow USA Swimming policies, including Safe Sport, and maintain current credentials

Provides direct supervision to the Head Coach and Director of Operations

Provides indirect supervision to all other support staff

Work onsite and keep regular business hours to maintain connection to the staff and facility
(80% onsite, 20% remote)

Education and/or Experience:
10 years of professional experience required, to include familiarity with USA Swimming

10 years of coaching experience required

Proven managerial and leadership experience required

Experience in successful strategy and program design and delivery; including business
case preparation, service initiation, contract negotiation, and the development and
monitoring of outcome and output measures

Job Summary

The Head Swim Coach provides leadership and direction for the college’s men’s and women’s swim teams, including but not limited to program budgeting, student recruitment, training and development of staff and players. The Head Swim Coach is responsible for the development of student-athletes and supports the mission of Division III athletics, and the mission of the college. This position reports to the Director of Athletics.

This is an on-site position in Jackson, MS with regular daily office hours and requires regular evening and weekend work and travel.

Job Duties

  • Recruit and evaluate high school and college athletes within college admissions and NCAA Division III guidelines
  • Facilitate team compliance with all NCAA Division III, Southern Athletics Association (SAA), and Millsaps College philosophies, emphasizing quality educational experience and academic success
  • Provide on field coaching of athlete skill development and assistant coach development
  • Hire, supervise, and develop an assistant coach
  • Maintain a consistent office schedule
  • Strategically plan and executive team practice schedules and sessions
  • Manage and balance yearly program budget

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in physical education, kinesiology or a relevant field, or an equivalent mix of education and experience; Master’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years successful college/high school coaching experience; Division III experience preferred
  • College and/or professional participation experience preferred
  • CPR/AED certification or the ability to obtain within 3 months of employment required
  • Proven ability to promote a positive team environment and cultivate good morale
  • Highly organized, creative problem-solver who takes initiative
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools. Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to varying technological environments
  • Able to work in team environments and individually
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license

  • Ability to work long hours, nights and weekends while in season and as needed for recruiting
