Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Swim Coach to help lead Laker Swim and Dragon Swim Academy, the competitive team and swim lessons program at Windermere Laker Aquatics. Named a 2024 USA Swimming Silver Medal club and currently ranked 3rd in the state of Florida, Laker Swim is a program known for its commitment to excellence in the world of competitive swimming.
Responsibilities:
- Instruct swimmers on proper technique, including stroke mechanics, starts, turns, and finishes.
- Plan and lead engaging practice sessions focused on development, endurance, and racing strategy.
- Motivate and inspire swimmers to set and achieve individual and team goals.
- Foster a team culture that encourages sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
- Provide coaching support and guidance to swimmers during competition.
- Regularly communicate with swimmers and their families.
- Collaborate with other coaches and club staff to complete administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching or instructor experience at the club, high school, or collegiate swimming level.
- Ability to connect effectively with swimmers of all ages and skill levels.
- Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and passion for coaching and developing young athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching team.
- Willingness to meet all requirements for coaching certification from USA Swimming.
- Current lifeguard certification and CPR/AED certification preferred.
