As our Aquatic Program Manager, you’ll lead the charge in recruiting, hiring, and training a top-notch team of Lifeguards, Water Safety, and Program Instructors. You’ll oversee and implement a diverse range of aquatic programs tailored to the needs of our members and community, including swim lessons, group exercises, and physical therapy pool usage.

Your role involves ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining pool systems, and upholding high cleanliness standards. You’ll manage scheduling, budget planning, and community outreach while leading the PWC Safety Committee and conducting emergency drills. With your strong leadership skills and commitment to exceptional customer service, you’ll set the standard for excellence in our Aquatics Department. Job Functions:

  • Recruit, hire, train, develop and supervise Lifeguards, Water Safety and Program Instructors.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Foundation policy.
  • Teaches swim lessons and aquatic programming as needed.
  • Develops and implements a full range of aquatic programs to meet the needs of the membership and the
    surrounding community. Programs to consist of swim lessons, group exercise programs, community partnership programs, managing physical therapy pool usage etc.
  • Schedule aquatic exercise programming and staff.
  • Develop, grow and promote programming in the community and participate in community events.
  • Responsible for the care and cleanliness of the aquatic area.
  • Ensure aquatic policies and procedures are compliant with Virginia, (Culpeper County) health department,
    MFA, OSHA and NSPF requirements and guidelines.
  • Check and monitor the pool systems/environment daily to ensure that it meets all required Virginia health
    codes (including maintaining proper chemical stabilization).
  • Order and maintain pool chemicals, supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain safety standards and safety training for aquatic staff, including regular opportunities to practice
    response to aquatic-related emergencies.
  • Lead PWC Safety Committee and emergency action plan development, maintenance and monthly mock
    drills for staff.
  • Develop, manage and monitor the Aquatic department annual budget and monthly operating budget.
  • Participate as Manager on Duty as assigned.
  • Set the standards for the Aquatics Department by providing exceptional customer service and meeting the
    needs of members.
  • Work with Director to maintain aquatic related pro shop selections.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
