James Zhang, a current high school senior from Allentown, Pennsylvania, has committed to swim for Niagara University—a Division I school in Buffalo, New York. Zhang will graduate from Parkland Senior High School in spring 2020 and join the Purple Eagles’ class of 2024.
Zhang is a current swimmer for Parkland Swimming Club. Earlier this year at the PIAA District XI AAA Championships, Zhang placed 2nd in both the 100 freestyle (47.85) and 200 IM (1:56.26). He is also a Eastern Zone Championships qualifier.

While Zhang wouldn’t have had any finals performances at the 2020 MAAC Swimming and Diving Championships, he most likely would have been on the 800 freestyle, 400 freestyle and 200 freestyle relays.

- 50 freestyle – 22.39
- 100 freestyle – 47.85
- 200 freestyle – 1:43.82
- 200 IM – 1:56.26
This year at the MAAC Championships, the Purple Eagles placed 9th as a team and some team records fell.
Zhang will begin his swimming career at Niagara University fall 2020.
