IU Gears Up for Swimming at Home, Winter Nationals

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana men’s and women’s swimming squads are back in the water this week at the AT&T Winter National Championships and at the Hoosierland Invitational in Bloomington.

Indiana swimmers Anze Tavcar, Blake Pieroni, Kennedy Goss, Lilly King and Miranda Tucker will be competing at Winter Nationals in Federal Way, Washington on December 3-5. This year, Winter Nationals will serve as a FINA-approved competition where swimmers can achieve qualifying times for the 2016 Olympic Games.

Combined, the five IU swimmers are entered in 19 events over the course of three days. Preliminary sessions begin at 12 p.m. ET with finals beginning at 9 p.m. ET.

The rest of the Hoosier swimmers will participate in the Hoosierland Invitational December 3-5 at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center in Bloomington. Each day, preliminary sessions will start at 11 a.m. ET, with finals beginning at 6 p.m. ET.

At the Hoosierland Invitational, Indiana will face off against Cincinnati, as well as swimmers from the University of Pacific. Earlier this season, both the IU men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams defeated Cincinnati in a dual meet.
