How To Watch Swimming At The 2024 Olympic Games Around The World

2024 PARIS SUMMER OLYMPIC GAMES

It’s the most exciting time of year for swimming fans, with the Olympics just a few days away from getting underway in Paris.

As one of the marquee sports of the Games, swimming will be widely available across the globe on both streaming platforms and broadcast television. Below, we’ll outline where you can watch the action from wherever you are in the world.

UNITED STATES

American viewers can find finals live on the main NBC broadcast network daily at 2:30 p.m. ET, or they can alternatively stream it on either Peacock or NBC Olympics. Full prelim sessions will also be available on both streaming platforms.

Read more here.

CANADA

Similarly in Canada, finals sessions (and some prelim action) can be found on the country’s primary broadcast network, CBC, and full sessions for both prelims and finals can be found via streaming on CBC Gem and CBC Sports.

AUSTRALIA

In Australia, the Olympics will be broadcast live on the Network Nine TV channels, and live streams of all sessions can be found on 9Now and Stan Sport.

GREAT BRITAIN

In the United Kingdom, free coverage of the Olympics will be provided on BBC One from 8 am to 10 pm (BST) daily, with coverage switching to BBC Two during off hours. There will also be BBC Olympics coverage streaming on its iPlayer hub here.

There will also be comprehensive coverage on Discovery+ (subscription).

REST OF EUROPE

European viewers can watch the Olympics on linear TV on Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2, providing “wall-to-wall action across every day of competition.”

Discovery+ is the primary streaming option for Europe, described by Eurosport as the “streaming home of the Olympics.”

Each nation’s national broadcast rights holder will typically also have varying levels of Olympic coverage, which usually prioritized swimming during the first week.

I am in Hungary and bought a VPN to watch Peacock. Playback errors….no stream. 😟

Can’t wait to watch the swimming on Stan. No ads. No having to put up with the broadcaster switching back to sports I don’t want to see. Get to view the gold-medal performances in 4K.

Will be recording 9’s FTA coverage. That way I can skip through the countless commercials after the finals have been won. I honestly don’t know how people are able to sit through 4 to 5 minutes or more of ads per commercial break without going insane.

9Now will have Giaan, Thorpe and Campbell… does anyone know if Stan has different commentators?

I heard stan sport will have international channels like eurosport but i dont know if swimming will be shown through that.
On the bright side (for me), i bellieve stan sport has full replays. Not sure if 9now will have replays.

9Now has had full session replays for all of the competitions they’ve covered previously so I can’t see why they wouldn’t.

Are you saying you’re not sure if Stan Sport will have swimming? It’s listed in the article as a way to watch…

Oh ok cool. I meant that im not sure if they will air swimming through eurosport, meaning international commentary, or if they will have their own swimming feed seeing as they have grant hackett and stephanie rice as part of their staff. Sorry i dont use streaming services so not sure how it works.

Stan will likely have world-feed commentators (plus other languages for those Greek etc streams – as will 9now individual sport feeds – though we won’t know for sure until D1 starts.
