Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania’s Zachary Snyder has made a verbal commitment* to the Harvard University class of 2020. Snyder is a versatile IMer from the York YMCA with national-level qualifying times across a broad variety of events, from both IMs to mid-distance freestyles, to 200 back and fly. At the 2015 National YMCA Short Course meet, Snyder was runner-up in the 500 free, and placed in the top eight in the 1000 free, 200 fly, and 400 IM. During the summer version of the same meet, he again finished second in the 400m free, and was an “A” finalist in the 200 fly, 200 IM and 400 IM.

His best times are:

  SCY LCM
200 IM 1:52.00 2:09.41
400 IM 3:53.19 4:31.69
200 free 1:38.21 1:53.22

Snyder is already capable of scoring in the “B” finals at Ivy League Championships in the 200 free, 500 free and 1000 free, as well as the 400 IM. Other verbal commits to the Harvard University class of 2020 include:

*DISCLAIMER: Snyder has not yet been officially accepted to Harvard. As is true with all Ivy League schools, Harvard’s Admission Office will not send its acceptance letter until the beginning of December, along with those of all Early Action candidates. The procedure for a recruited athlete like Snyder is for Admissions to review his transcripts and SAT scores, “support his application for admissions in the fall,” issue him a Likely Letter, then offer him acceptance into the class of 2020.
