Harmon Earns Horizon League Swimmer of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS – Krissy Harmon was named Horizon League Female Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday after winning the 1,000-yard freestyle against Bowling Green and Youngstown State on Feb. 5.

Harmon, a freshman from Caro, Mich., won the 1,000 free by nearly two seconds going 10:22.67, just over one-tenth off her season best time. She also competed in the 500 freestyle, getting fourth at 5:08.43. She currently ranks second in the conference in the 1,000 free and has the fastest time among all Horizon League freshmen. The distance freestyler also ranks second in the 1,650 free (17:05.79) and third in the 500 free at 4:56.71. This is her first weekly honor from the league in her career.

The Golden Grizzlies will compete next at the 2016 Horizon League Swimming and Diving Championships Feb. 24-27 at the Oakland Aquatic Center.
