GRINNELL, Iowa — After two days of competition, the Pioneers and Foresters continue to lead the way at the 2020 MWC Swimming & Diving Championships.
The Grinnell College men ended the day with 616.5 points to extend their point advantage over the lead-runner up Lake Forest College (461) and the rest of the field.
The Lake Forest women still lead the women’s field with 648 points. The Pioneers of Grinnell College had a great showing on the day sitting at 599.5 points to close in on the Forester’s lead.

In the men’s 3-meter diving, Sam Heller of Grinnell took first place with a final score of 336.55, while Lawrence’s Maddy Smith won the women’s 1-meter diving with a score of 382.70.
Illinois College’s Hannah Marks set a national B qualifying time of 1:04.28 to win the 100 breaststroke and break the Illinois College school record.
The Championship action continues tomorrow for the final day. Prelims will begin at 9:00 AM and the finals will begin at 4:00 PM.
