Monterey Bay, Calif.- Sophomore Callie Drefs broke her own school record while moving up to #16 nationally, and the 200 Medley Relay of Drefs, Claire Eilers, Eva Garraux, and Elle Moir raced up to #7 in the nation, and the women’s swim team will head into Christmas break with confident eyes set on the upcoming championship season.
“Our final 2024 meet against GCU and Ottawa was exciting with a new school record and many new National “B” cuts and best times. Callie Drefs broke her own school record, and our 200 Medley are now ranked 7th Nationally!! The biggest victory in my opinion is the unity and the character of our team! So many good swims but mostly a Christian Love, especially demonstrated at the senior awards after the meet!! Roll Storm!!”
The team also received strong performances from Callie Drefs (1:57.03, 2nd overall) and Abby Lair (2:00.55, 3rd overall) in the 200 Freestyle.
