FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State Swimming & Diving head coach Jeanne Fleck announced on Wednesday that assistant swimming coach Anthony Randall has been promoted to the position of Associate Head Coach.

Entering his fourth season on the coaching staff, Randall has been instrumental in elevating the program to new heights, including a record-best fifth place finish at the 2019 Mountain West Championship.

“Anthony has done a wonderful job,” Fleck said, “We’re moving up and we want to keep going in the right direction and keeping Anthony here is really important for us. Part of my job is to help him be the best coach he can be and the more responsibilities I give him, the better I set him up for his future.”

As part of the promotion Randall will be in charge of more athlete groups overseeing their training. He will also work more with budgeting and scholarships and continue to lead the program’s recruiting efforts while working closer with Fleck in offerings.

Randall was a standout swimmer himself at the University of Rhode Island where he was a four-time Atlantic 10 swimming finalist and served as team captain as a senior. He previously served as the Associate Head Coach for the Rhode Island swim team for five seasons before joining the Fresno State staff for the 2016-17 season.

Randall also recently became a father as he and his wife, Corrie, welcomed son Janai in May.
