Chloe Kim from Chicago, Illinois has committed to swim at Skidmore College in the class of 2025.
“I am beyond excited to announce my commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at Skidmore College! I chose Skidmore College not only for its challenging academics and many opportunities on campus, but also for the friendly team atmosphere and wonderful coaches. It was very important to me to find someplace where I could explore any avenue, curiosity, or interest whether in the STEM field or in my extracurriculars, and I not only found that in Skidmore, but I also found a community that strives to help me in going beyond that. I want to give a big thanks to all of my friends, teammates, coaches, and most importantly my parents for helping me get to this point! Go throughbreds!”
A senior at Whitney M. Young Magnet High School, Kim swam varsity for four years and was captain of the team. She also participated on the frosh/soph water polo team. Kim does her year-round swimming with Chicago Wolfpack Aquatic Club (CWAC).
Kim notched several PBs just before the pandemic shut down the pools, going best times in the 200 free, 500 free, 200 back, and 100 breast in February 2020.
Skidmore competes in Division III’s Liberty League. Kim will have an immediate impact on the lineup when she arrives next fall. She would have been the Thoroughbreds’ fastest 50/100/200/500 freestyler and 100/200 backstroker last season.
