The Baltimore Sun is reporting that former diving coach at Towson University Maureen Mead will appear in court tomorrow for a plea hearing regarding charges related to an alleged locker room video recording incident back in October.
She was indicted in November and charged with one count of “interception of communication,” one count of “peeping tom,” and one count of “altering physical evidence” related to a crime, totaling one felony and two misdemeanors.
According to the Sun, a plea agreement has been reached. While she was previously scheduled for a trial, she will now sit a plea hearing tomorrow afternoon in Baltimore County Circuit Court.
The whole investigation was sparked in October when Towson’s women’s swimming and diving team members found a cell phone which “may have” (according to the college) recorded footage of the women in the locker room.
All of the charges are dated October 16th, after which time Maureen Mead was put on an administrative leave by the university
After the incident, all three of Towson’s coaches (Mead, Mead’s husband and head coach Pat Mead, and assistant coach Adrienne Phillips) were placed on leave soon after the incident, and both Phillips and Pat Mead resigned December 31st. Jake Shrum, a former assistant, is now the acting head coach and Tim Perkins is the acting diving coach.
